West Boca Metals was founded in October of 2007, by partners Scott Shapiro and Stuart Fox. The initial market focus was to broker non-prime and/or secondary steel. Scott and Stuart have a combined 40+ years in varied senior positions within the steel industry. During the changing business environment over the last few years, WBM has evolved into a distributor of secondary and prime pre-painted steel and coated material serving the residential and commercial construction industry as well as establishing itself as a reliable vendor of other varieties of flat rolled steel. These other products are consumed in the agricultural, steel tubing, HVAC and service center industries. The diversification has allowed us to prosper through challenging economic periods in our industry and overall economy.
WBM has consistently differentiated itself by delivering customer service and reliability to its customers and as importantly, its’ vendors. Our performance has created customer and vendor loyalty that has enabled WBM to cement relationships at both levels that will ultimately produce higher than average financial results. Repeat business is at the core of West Boca’s business philosophy allowing us to maintain a manageable customer and supplier base. The relationships, now established are with several of the industry’s leading producers, service centers and end users.
Understanding the availability of steel processing equipment, WBM has elected to not purchase its own equipment, but to take advantage of supply chain opportunities without the prohibitive capital expenses typically associated with such services. We will when required, offer processed steel coil in bare or painted form throughout the United States and Mexico at the most competitive prices available.
